In Fengtian, a city embroiled in warlord conflicts during the Republic of China era, a jade Buddha head is mysteriously stolen, and the opera troupe leader lies dead on the stage, pushing the cold-blooded young marshal Xu You An and the Kunqu opera star Rong Xiao Nan into an irreconcilable conflict. Soon after, a head is found, but only the fake one, and the discrepancy between the real and fake Buddha heads triggers a series of murders, unraveling a long-buried bloodbath and entangling the fates of the three people – Xu You An, Rong Xiao Nan and Jiang Chun Er.
